BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS
On August 22, the Sunday before most local school districts begin the school year, we will honor our school children and educators. Children are invited to bring their backpack or lunchbox and educators are invited to bring their briefcase or a totebag.  During the 11:00 am service of worship, school attendees of all ages and school educators and administrators of all levels of education will be invited to come forward for a prayer of blessing by the congregation. Our hope is that they will feel the daily presence of God and the support of the Corinth congregation during the coming school year.

FLOWER BED PLANNING MEETING – AUGUST 29
Anyone interested in planning the plantings for the flower beds in front of the church is invited to remain following worship on Sunday, August 29. There are some decisions regarding the placement of soil fabric and mulch that need to be made immediately, but the actual planting will not take place until cooler weather. The goal is to plant the beds with some plants representative of a 1920’s church garden. If you have questions, contact Trudy Jackson.

CHANGE IN DATE OF SEPTEMBER SESSION MEETING
The September meeting of Corinth Presbyterian Church’s governing body, the Session, has been moved from its usual Second Sunday time to Sunday, September 5, at 12:30 pm. Anyone having any business to bring before the Session should contact one of the Elders or the Pastor who moderates the Session. Anyone wishing to become a member of Corinth Presbyterian Church is invited to speak with the pastor or any of the Elders and to remain following worship for that meeting. The Presbyterian Church (USA) receives members in any one of three ways: by profession of faith and baptism (if you have never been a member of any church); by transfer of letter (if you have been a recent member of another church); or by reaffirmation of faith (if you have been baptized but have not recently been an active member of any church).
